Glazing

In old buildings, energy losses are extremely high, particularly due to low-quality windows and/or inappropriate glazing. An entirely different energy image of a building can be achieved with modern profiles, appropriate glazing, right sealing and appropriate installation method. Pursuant to the Slovenian Rules on thermal protection of buildings, glazing of rooms can only be done with types of glass with thermal transmittance UST lower than 1.4 W/m2K and total solar radiation transmittance factor (g) higher than 0.55. These types of glass are highly permeable for visible light and neutral in colour. SIMER PVC windows have standardly installed 4-16-4 double layer glass with thermal transmittance of 1.1 W/m2K (with gas between window panes).

We have conformed to your wishes by offering a wide selection of different types of glass:

  • sound insulation glass,
  • sun protection glass,
  • tempered glass,
  • laminated glass,
  • fire resistant glass.

Glass in combination with decorative grids is also available (adhesive grids on the outer side of the panes and various types of inter-pane grids), to achieve optical reduction of large glass surfaces. The rooms where we wish to avoid curious looks from the outside can be equipped with special glass windows.

In city centres, along heavy traffic roads, railroad lines and other potentially noisier locations, the requirements for glass with higher sound insulation capacity are more justified.

When installing glass panes in SIMER windows, we can choose the types of glass that offer better sound insulation capacity while maintaining good heat insulation properties.

The sound protection capacity of these types of glass is achieved, in relation to the required level of insulation, by non-symmetrical composition, increased weight, filling with special gases, the use of "elastic" glass, and most often, by using different combinations of these elements.
